Love the slouchies! But my grand kids tease me that at my age, I look like I am wearing a nightcap. I kinda agree. Any way can somebody help me to revise a slouchy beanie pattern so that it fits like a regular beanie. At what length should I start decreasing so that the hat fits like a regular beanie? Please help.

Try making a tube with ribbing on one end. (Front post DC, back post DC around for 2 rows) then lay flat. Sew together in the middle, now it looks like a figure 8 if you hold up the end. make a stitch in the top/bottom of the 8. Continue stitching together until it is completely closed. Makes an easy and pretty slouch hat. Can use any stitch you like for the tube.
