Supplies:

K hook

Any kind of yarn you prefer

yarn needle

I made this for my daughter who is 7 1/2 years old. Her foot is about 13 1/2 shoe size to almost a Size 1, and 7 inches long. This slipper should fit a child from the ages of 5- 8 years old. Just when you get to the length of the slipper, measure your child’s foot. My daughters foot measured 7 inches, so I made the slipper about 7.5 to 8 inches long to fit and before I slip stitched it closed, I put it on her foot to check if it fit.
Abbreviations:

ch=chain

sl st=slip stitch

sc=single crochet

hdc=half double crochet

Rnd 2: *Work 2 hdc in the next stitch, hdc in the next, *Repeat around, sl st

toe

 Next Rounds: This is the opening of the Slipper where the foot goes in: Now Chain 1, and Turn, *hdc in each hdc around until you reach the marker from the last round, Chain 1 and Turn, *Repeat this until your slipper reaches 7.5-8 inches long, (7 more rounds) But at the last round, work a hdc in the next 5 hdc, slip stitch in the next 5 hdc, hdc in the rest of the hdc, (this will round off the end)
Once your slipper reaches the length to fit your child, then take the ends of the last round, and slip stitch across to close it for the heel. Then at the end, I turn it inside out, so the heel seem won’t show. Now fasten off and weave in the ends.
