I made this Creeper hat for my 8 year old daughter. She loves to play and watch Mine craft videos. You can make this hat in any size just change the hook size as seen below. My daughter helped me make the face and loved it when I was finished. Enjoy this Creeper hat Pattern!

Crochet Hat sizes with this Double crochet pattern
Newborn baby head circumference, 13″ – 14″, Hat height = 5.5 to 6″= D hookIf you want to have a bulky hat, use this pattern here with a J hookhttp://crochetjewel.com/?p=14362
Baby 3 to 6 months, Head Cir, 14″ – 17 “, Hat height= 6.5 – 7″=E hook
baby 6-12 months, 16″-19″ head cir., hat length=6.5-7″=F hook,
toddler-preschooler (12 months-3 yrs), 18″-20″ head cir., hat length=7″ =G hook
child 4-10 yrs, head cir., 19″-20 1/2 “”, hat length= 7.5″=H hook
teens, head cir., 20 1/2″-22″, hat length, 7.5-8″=I hook
Adult women, 21.5″-22.5″, hat length, 8″= J

use smaller hook for smaller size or larger hook for a larger hat.

Supplies:
I use an H hook for my daughter to wear this. Green and Black Red Heart Yarn.

Abbreviations:
ch=chain
sl st=slip stitch
sc=single crochet
dc=double crochet
Instructions:

How to Crochet a Double Crochet Hat Video:

rnd 1: Work 11 dc in a Magic Circle, sl st on top of the chain 3. -11 dc

Video on a Double Crochet Magic Circle:

rnd 2. ch 3, (Counts as first Dc), dc in same st. as joining, 2dc in each dc around. join with sl st on top of chain 3. -22 dc

rnd 3. ch 3, (Counts as first Dc), *2dc in next dc, dc in the next dc, Repeat from *around, join with sl st. -33 dc

rnd 4. ch 3, (Counts as first Dc), dc in the next dc, 2dc in the next dc, *dc in the next two dc, 2dc in the next dc, Repeat from *around, join with sl st. -44 dc

rnd 5. ch 3, (Counts as first Dc), dc in the 2 next two dc, 2dc in the next dc, *dc in the next 3 dc, 2dc in the next dc. Repeat from * around, join with sl st. -55 dc

rnds 6-desired length (lengths are listed above), Ch 3, (Counts as first Dc), dc in each dc around, sl st to join. -55 dc, Repeat this until your hat reaches 7 inches or for your desired hat size and length. Fasten off and Weave in the ends.

Creeper Face: F hook and black yarn

Eyes: Make 2

chain 6, sc in the 2nd ch from the hook and each across, Turn -6 sc

rows 2-5. *ch 1, sc in each sc across, Turn *Repeat for total of 5 times. Fasten off.

Mouth: chain 10, sc in the 2nd chain from the hook and each ch across, Turn

rows 2-3. *ch 1, sc in each sc across, Turn *Repeat twice

rows 4-7. *ch 1, sc in two sc, Turn, *Repeat for total of 4 rows. Fasten off.

slip stitch at the end of row 3 on the opposite of rows 4-7. *ch 1, sc in the next two sc, *Repeat for total of 4 rows. Fasten off.

Slip stitch on top of the chain 10, but sl st in after skipping to two chains (this is on top of the creeper mouth) *ch 1, sc in the next 5 stitches, Turn, *Repeat across once more, Fasten off. Now sew the creeper face on the center bottom of the hat and then sew the eyes in the corners on top the creeper face, seen in the picture.
