My old backpack has got a hole in it and I have been wondering if I could crochet a new one for myself. I made one for my daughter but it is too small for my needs. This looks ideal! If I get it finished and write about it on my blog, I’ll be sure to link back to here. :-)

Line 31 has me stumped. There’s no repeat mentioned so do i do a line of hdc with placing 2 hdc together on either side of the 18hdc flap?

Its been awhile since Ive done this pattern, so I think its beginning of the front flap, which is
row 30. Front flap, hdc in the next 18 dc, turn -18 hdc
row 31. ch 1, 2hdctog decrease, hdc in the next hdc, 2hdctog decrease, turn -16 hdc
so yes you do a row of 18 hdc, then next row is decrease, hdc and decrease
